Dave Pinto is attempting to take baseball musings pro. Baseball Musings has been around forever, if it wasn't the first baseball blog ever it was certainly the first I ever saw. Dave has managed an interesting general baseball blog that has replaced ESPN.com for me.

I chipped in some money, but I have to be honest: I only gave him one dollar. Dave says:

If every individual who visits this site in March gives $1, Baseball Musings can be written full time for a year.

I want this model to work, I want the community of baseball fans on the internet to support an interesting site that produces original defensive research we've posted about here before. A dollar is nothing and the barrier to entry is exceptionally low: it took me 30 seconds to give a dollar, and it won't register in my Credit Card bill except as a "what can you buy for a dollar?".

But the only way it will happen is if enough people make that first step. It's cheap and easy to do, we can fund independent baseball journalism and research on our own.
