Dave Pinto continues to crank out interesting stuff. This time it's daily batting logs for players. Choose a player, choose a date range, see that players batting lines and summary stats for that time period.

That is, as they say up here in Boston, "wicked cool!"

Just for laffs, I chose marlon Anderson and a cut-off date of June 1st of last year (remembering that he was good for a couple of months and then sucked the rest of the year).

The data, returned almost instantaneously:

Marlon, April-May.... .295/.327/.484 (.811 ops) in 95 ab
Marlon, June 1--...... .203/.234/.316 (.550 ops) in 158 ab.

Great tool!!!

Bonds
pre 2000 (up to age 34):
.288/.409/.559 (15.68AB/HR)
post 2000 (age 35-39):
.339/.535/.781 (8.22 AB/HR)
overall:
.300/.443/.611 (12.94 AB/HR)

Don't get me wrong, these days I think everybody who's been suspected is guilty, including Mac, but I think Bonds is the one whose stats have benefited the most.

Pretty neat, though a bit incomplete (the first player I thought of was Prince Albert, and I didn't see his name there, and then I tried Stan Freakin' Musial and didn't see his name listed either). I know, kvetch kvetch kvetch... I'm sure he'll get around to them (if the raw data is still there).

Pujols is in there, although Musial's not.

Albert was *not* there this morning when I looked, but damned if he isn't now. Dave's assiduously working on this one, I see.

I posted a comment on Baseball Musings today about the Pujols omission and Pinto e-mailed me saying he forgot to put in all players who debuted in 2001. He has fixed it now.
