Predictions
« Polanco | Main | Myers Back to Red Sox »Baseball Toaster makes NL predictions.
The Cardinals are the universal pick except for the following line:
Jon: Pirates Brewers Cubs Cards Astros Reds
Which is clearly the result of psychoactive chemicals.
Posted by Josh at March 29, 2005 03:59 PMgoodness sakes alive! i had to go over to their site just to see if the order was from 1-6 or 6-1.
i guess that's just an object lesson in the length of the baseball season, and how just about anything can happen.
or maybe it's an object lesson in the dangers of accidentally throwing your written work in a blender before posting it.
or maybe it is the chemicals.
Posted by: brenton at March 29, 2005 05:49 PMIn the predictors comments, that guy says "Alert the Weather Channel: Tornado strikes the midwest." I'm guessing that means he just jumbled up the teams at random.
As for the rest, seems about normal. But what's up with all the non-Braves picks? 2 of those guys even have them finishing in 3rd and one picked them for 4th, just above the lowly Nationals. I learned my lesson last year. The Braves division title run didn't just come from Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz. It came from Schuerholz and Cox just as much, and I expect it to continue.
Posted by: John at March 29, 2005 06:02 PMi'm struck by lack of love for the phillies. to me they look a lot like the '04 cardinals --- potent lineup, decent bullpen, and just enough arms. i'm not saying they're a 105-game winners . . . . but 95 i could see. they've got depth, they've got payroll.
